POSITION OVERVIEW

At Kovitz in our Pittsburgh, PA office we are seeking a Trading Analyst to act as the primary trader on the trading team. This role will be focus on equity and mutual fund trade execution throughout the day while supporting advisors with portfolio setup and model maintenance. This person will also review portfolios, creating trades as needed. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is a key requirement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Trading:

• Execute equity and mutual fund trade orders
• Reconcile trade blotter
• Generate SMA and outside manager block trades
• Complete daily start and end of day procedures
• Monitor portfolios for drift from target
• Raise / invest cash as needed
• Create and assign models to accounts in trading system
• Review and resolve trading issues with custodians
• Generate trade confirms and affirm trades as needed
• Act as a resource to advisors working with trading software
• Provide support for portfolio setup in Eclipse for advisors
• Other tasks as needed

Reporting:

• Handle trading reporting requirements for compliance
• Maintain employee restriction list
• Perform quarterly mutual fund share class review
• Semi-annual non-model holding fund review
• Annual and adhoc scenario analysis on model and model holdings

Skills & Experience:

• 2 - 4 years of experience in a financial services operationally focused role
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
• Will consider new graduates

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Previous working experience in a trading environment
• Strong investment knowledge and thrive in a semi-autonomous environment
• Experience with Pershing, Schwab, Fidelity
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skill level
• Familiarity with Orion Eclipse

Compensation Structure: Base Salary + Bonus
