JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is looking for a commercial HVAC technician in the Richmond, Virginia area to lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of large-scale industrial AC units. Execute routine and preventative maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in AC systems, employing advanced troubleshooting techniques. Collaborate with a skilled team, providing expertise and guidance for effective repair strategies. Adhere to rigorous safety standards and industry regulations during all work procedures. Document all service activities, including equipment condition, utilized parts, and performed tasks.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Possess 5-8 years of hands-on experience with large industrial AC units, demonstrating specialized proficiency service maintenance of these specialized units. Proficient in servicing commercial and industrial AC units ranging from 2 to 50 tons. Familiarity with renowned AC systems brands such as York, Aon, Crack Unit, Train, Carrier, and Diken. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and rectify intricate AC system malfunctions. Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and clients. Availability for potential overtime and prompt response to emergency repair requests.

INTERNAL NOTES

This candidate will be working onsite at Virginia State University servicing AC Units until October then will be allocated for more travel work within the state. A good question to ask is about the size of units they've worked on and have them go into detail regarding the work they did. Residential techs can work but they need to have some experience with the larger units as there is a learning curve. Elmore is more concerned with someone who is teachable and is a team player over having the exact skillset and exact years of experience.

Day-to-Day:

  • Spearhead the installation, maintenance, and repair of cutting-edge HVAC systems, with a focus on Rooftop Units (RTU).
  • Execute intricate aerial lift operations and advanced rigging for elevated installations.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues with water chillers and coolers.
  • Lead projects involving large rooftop HVAC systems.
  • Lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of large-scale industrial AC units, with a focus on water-cooled centrifugal chillers and gantries.
  • Execute routine and preventative maintenance procedures to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in AC systems, employing advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team, providing expertise and guidance for effective repair strategies
  • Adhere to rigorous safety standards and industry regulations during all work procedures.
  • Document all service activities, including equipment condition, utilized parts, and performed tasks.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and technologies in the field to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Must have an EPA Certification (they must bring a copy of this certification on their first day of work).

  • Extensive knowledge of water-cooled centrifugal chillers and gantries utilized in prominent hospitals and factories.
