Job Description

Stott & May is representing an Artificial Intelligence Legal Startup in New York

We are looking for a talented attorney with a funds background to join an organization comprised of former AmLaw 50 attorneys from Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and more.

You will be taking the lead role in developing use-cases and products from ideation through to implementation for legal departments at some of the world's best-known hedge funds, private equity firms, as well as Global 200 law firms.

The Role

Sitting at the nexus of law and technology. This is perfect for high-performing attorneys eager to apply their legal knowledge in a practical role that is closer to the product, and will lead the industry in minimizing the administrative, operational tasks fund's lawyers are tasked with each day, that take them away from adding value.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Acting as a legal subject matter expert from a funds perspective, contributing actively to the product development lifecycle.
  • Translating complex legal and business problems into actionable insights and becoming a trusted advisor and authority to clients.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including AI engineers, product specialists, and client engagement teams, to enhance client experiences and drive platform improvements.
  • Preparing and delivering tailored insights, client presentations, and in-depth analyses of regulatory frameworks.
  • Engaging in strategic initiatives to elevate our brand, crafting metrics-driven content that reinforces our mission and impact.

You'll be a great fit if:

  • A J.D. from a top 50 law school and 2–8 years of experience at a Global 100 firm
  • Extensive knowledge of the funds industry, with a proven background and confidence dealing with CxO stakeholders
  • A passion for technology and artificial intelligence, with a strong desire to use your experience to bridge the gap between law and technology
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

  • A technical background would be helpful, but it is not needed to succeed.

**Please note this is a product-facing position, that will not be formally practising the law**
