Job Description

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN IN PERSON POSITION LOCATED IN WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and coordinate compliance policies and protocols on behalf of the organization.
  • Work with an outside consulting firm to ensure all licenses and permits are up to date
  • Develop and implement a compliance program to ensure the organization operates in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Determine compliance metrics and establish a system for tracking them
  • Ensure the plant is following DEP, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate and participate in inspections with DEP, EPA, OSHA, Fire, Alarm, and all Federal, State, County, and City Agencies.
  • Continuous training or certification to remain up to date on federal and state laws related to the organization, and update policies accordingly
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of chemicals, and other waste products (vendor quotes, follow-up on diagnostics and or repairs).
  • Coordinate and Maintain Employee training as current and in compliance with DEP, EPA, and OSHA (Hazcom, Haz whopper, Safety, etc).
  • Update and maintain emergency action/contingency plans.
  • Train managers on the emergency action /contingency plans annually.
  • Maintain SDS binders for the warehouse and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain chemical storage locations based on type (corrosives, oxidizers, flammable, water reactive, pyrophoric, and toxics).
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
  • Maintain records and resolve issues that involve employees or the plant regarding accidents, incidents, or dangerous practices.
  • Prepare reports for plant or employee accidents and occurrences for HR and upper management.
  • Perform compliance audits to determine whether established protocols are being followed and can be improved.
  • Maintain up-to-date written documentation and policies related to the organization's business activities.
  • Create and maintain a compliance and safety resource library for staff members to reference when they have questions.
  • Inspect equipment and machines for any unsafe conditions or violations to DEP, EPA, and OSHA.
  • Devise a schedule for preventative measures to avoid future violations from occurring.
  • Ensure compliance with all City, County, and State Wastewater Standards. This would include, but not be limited to, oversight of monitoring all chemical feeds to achieve proper operating PHs and ORPs.
  • Experience with reverse osmosis water production systems, including the cleaning and maintenance of the filtering system, both chemically and mechanically.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

 

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of prior experience in risk management or compliance roles.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, compliance certifications.
  • Superior attention to detail to identify and correct risky practices.
  • Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly, both speaking and in writing.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations (DEP/EPA/OSHA). 
  • Experience with DEP, EPA, and OSHA inspections.
  • Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members.
  • Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, and able to meet deadlines.

 

Perform any additional tasks as required.

Drug Free Workplace – Pre-employment drug testing required. The company does perform random drug and alcohol testing quarterly.

HOURS:

  • Mon – Thurs: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm.
  • Friday: 7:00 am – 11:00 am.
