Job Description
InGenesis is currently seeking a
Medical Scribe to work with our client. In this role, you will work directly alongside physicians and other healthcare providers to document patient encounters and medical information in real-time. This role is vital to ensuring accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient care, which supports both the clinical team and patient outcomes. Duties And Responsibilities - Accurately document patient histories, physical examinations, procedures, lab results, diagnoses, and treatment plans as dictated by the healthcare provider during patient visits in real-time.
- Ensure that all patient information is recorded and updated in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Assist with gathering patient information, including reviewing medical histories and confirming information in patient records as needed.
- Assist the healthcare team by entering orders, prescriptions, and other necessary documentation into the system.
- Work closely with physicians and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflows.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Review patient records to ensure accurate documentation and identify any discrepancies or issues that may need to be corrected.
- Plan, prepare, coordinate, and implement faxing, scanning, and phone communications related to patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - Associate's degree from an accredited university.
- One (1) year of directly related work experience, such as a transcriptionist or medical scribe.
- Experience as a medical scribe is preferred.
- Strong typing and data entry skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions - Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. Some travel and weekend work is required.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
