Job Description

Position Summary:

Lead & motivate team of operational buyers within JWC. Ensure the best total value for all purchased good and services are achieved. Liaise & Co-operate with Strategic Procurement & category managers in the Sulzer Group implementing long term sourcing strategies; selecting, developing and managing suppliers, interacting effectively with global internal teams among others Tendering, Global Category Managers, PD, R&D and the multiple local teams at the WIBU manufacturing units.

*Principle Duties and Responsibilities:*

• Lead & motivate JWC buyers team on daily operational duties associated with role.

• Interacting with the Global Category Managers, Sourcing experts, Tendering and other local stakeholders

• Create and implement strategic sourcing plans and strategies that align with the global organization’s goals and objectives.

• Find ways to make the supply chain more resilient, eliminating risks, creating backup plans, and addressing potential disruptions

• Accountable for cost reductions and cost management in all procurement processes and procedures

• Making sure that procurement activities align with the organization’s budget and balancing cost savings with meeting the organization’s operational needs

• Identify ways to streamline and optimize the procurement process in cooperation with Procurement Excellence experts

• Makes sure that the procurement process complies with legal and ethical standards by establishing and enforcing procurement policies and practices that prevent fraud, corruption, and unethical behavior.

• Responsible for Sulzer branding, supply chain sustainability, and ethical requirements.

• Develop team, including selection and onboarding of new team members to be proficient in their role

• Develop own technical knowledge of product

• Train, develop, appraise, coach all procurement staff in their roles

• Innovate, drive continuous improvement culture and can do attitude within team and wider NW to ensure continuous improved performance & service

• Solution driven: Build systems and ways of working to be pro-active.

• Ability to perform all purchasing duties when and where necessary (examples: performing audits, cost breakdown assessment,

• leading critical negotiations, supporting tendering, viewing cost out / savings, claim management etc.)"

• Develop , update policies and procedures for Purchasing department ensuring they are up to date, staff trained and following same

• Develop own and staff standard work ensuring resources are optimized

• Review and execute support on all internal customer queries

• Be point of contact for NW regarding any Op Purchasing, CAPEX plans

• Plan supplier visits in conjunction with WIBU Strategic Procurement Experts

• KPI Performance Reporting: Measure and present Supplier performance at required forums

• Update own knowledge through education and or network development ensuring JWC is optimizing best practices

• Act as dept leader in x functional activities both on and off site

• Implement and maintain commodity strategies approved by Sulzer Category Management

• Data responsible for complete supplier base in JWC

• Responsible for local spend in procurement at JWC

• Accountable for local procurement contract coverage at JWC

• ESG: Ensuring Supplier documentation including signed Sulzer Code of Conduct

• Key contact to ensure every "Trouble Shooting" with suppliers

• Define sourcing opportunities cooperating with Manufacturing and R&D to execute

• Define local priorities and actions for the procurement unit

• Forecasting spend development at JWC

• Perform audits at suppliers based on Sulzer guidelines

• Support and complete internal audits on JWC Procurement

• Driving continuous improvement actions (internal and external)

• Self motivated. Ability to work under stress and still going the extra mile

• Ensuring all Sulzer released procedures and rules are followed (Health and Safety, Environment protections etc.)

* Experience, Education, & Skills:*

Third level qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain or equivalent.

Minimum 5 - 7 yrs in similar role.

Leading by example - Operational buyer team

Ability to think critically and have all the necessary skills (example. Product cost break down analysis)

Identify and mitigate risks in procurement processes and activities

Knowing how to coordinate with various persons and groups and knowing how to get them to coordinate with each other to work towards a common goal

Maintains close relations to strategic key suppliers

Continuous success in leadership while transforming functions within the organization to be more efficient due to procurement initiatives

Ability to secure favorable terms in agreements in a cost-efficient manner

Can draft, review, and negotiate contracts to legal and organizational requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

English fluent any additional language is a plus
