The Foundations School is committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated School Social Worker to join our student support team and help address barriers to learning while fostering a safe and inclusive school environment.

Job Summary:

The School Social Worker will work with students, families, teachers, and administrators to identify and address social, emotional, and behavioral issues that interfere with academic performance and personal development. This position plays a vital role in improving students’ well-being and helping them thrive in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.
  • Conduct assessments and develop intervention strategies for students in need of support.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to develop and implement behavior management or intervention plans.
  • Connect students and families to community resources and social services.
  • Participate in IEP and 504 plan meetings as appropriate.
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide support during emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in compliance with school and legal requirements.
  • Promote equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices in all services delivered.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or related setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and equity in education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and restorative practices.
