RESEARCH ANALYST (Exempt)

About the Columbus Partnership

The Columbus Partnership brings together civic-minded business leaders in a unique collaborative effort to advance a shared vision to make the Columbus metro the most prosperous in the country. Through our work, we create jobs and attract capital investment, expand access to opportunity, and improve the Columbus metro’s economic competitiveness.

Our member CEOs are committed to the future of Columbus through high-impact civic and philanthropic engagement focused on the future of Columbus. Our professional and cross-functional staff team work together in a fast-paced, results-driven, and in-person work environment to carry out our mission. Our work is also carried out through The Columbus Region, One Columbus, Smart Columbus, and other public-facing brands.

The Role

As Research Analyst, you’ll be making sure our strategies are backed by facts - the kind of facts that drive big decisions.

You’ll collect and organize data, support responses that allow the Columbus metro to compete for jobs, maintain research tools, and contribute to presentations and marketing that reach global audiences. This is a great early-career role for someone curious, detail-oriented, and excited to have an impact on the community.

What You’ll Do

  • Collect and analyze data related to workforce, demographics, real estate, and industry sectors.
  • Create data visualizations, charts, and reports that help tell the Columbus Region’s story.
  • Help respond to real-time research needs from site selectors, business leaders, and internal teams.
  • Support data platforms like Salesforce, GIS tools, and spreadsheets.
  • Contribute to presentations and proposals that land major wins for the region.
  • Stay curious and proactive - we’ll teach you the tools, you bring the questions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, geography, city planning, public policy, data science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Excel and a willingness to learn tools like ArcGIS, Tableau, Power BI, or Salesforce.
  • Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
  • Interest in economic development, research, and what makes metros tick.
  • Bonus points for experience with design or data visualization tools (but not required).

Where You’ll Work

  • You’ll work in our modern downtown Columbus office, alongside a collaborative, fast-moving team.
  • The typical workday starts around 9 a.m. with occasional, early mornings, evenings, or weekends needed for key events or deadlines.
  • During busy seasons or major initiatives, we may work beyond the standard workday.

What You’ll Get

  • A front-row seat to how Columbus grows and the people shaping its future.
  • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • Paid parental leave and comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • A 401(k) plan with an exceptional employer match.
  • Professional development support.
  • Free parking along the Scioto Mile.
  • A high-impact, mission-driven team that’s doing big things for the Columbus metro.
