Job Summary:

The RTS Manager is responsible for overseeing the final release of all power transformers manufactured at the Rincon plant, ensuring that each unit meets customer specifications, internal quality standards, and all documentation requirements before shipment. This role manages the end-of-line coordination between engineering, quality, production, testing, and documentation teams to ensure a seamless and technically sound Release to Service (RTS) process. The RTS Manager serves as the final checkpoint and technical authority for customer-ready transformers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Release Management
  • Own and manage the full RTS process, ensuring all units meet mechanical, electrical, testing, and documentation requirements before release.
  • Perform or oversee final inspections, documentation reviews, and quality signoffs required for shipment readiness.
  • Ensure units meet both customer specs and internal engineering standards before releasing to logistics.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Interface with Engineering, Quality, Testing, and Production teams to confirm that all technical and quality issues are resolved prior to RTS.
  • Collaborate with the documentation team to ensure complete and accurate customer documentation packages (drawings, FAT reports, test data, certifications, etc.).
  • Customer Satisfaction & Compliance
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for RTS-related customer questions or concerns, including witness testing follow-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with all customer-specific RTS checklists, contracts, and quality expectations.
  • Escalate nonconformances or open issues for executive review as needed prior to release.
  • System & Process Improvement
  • Maintain and continuously improve the RTS tracking system and process across departments.
  • Drive accountability for readiness dates and support on-time delivery initiatives.
  • Identify root causes for delays in RTS and lead cross-functional problem-solving.
  • Team Leadership & Reporting
  • Supervise RTS technicians or coordinators (if applicable), ensuring accuracy and completeness of work.
  • Report plant RTS metrics, cycle times, and exceptions to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Work with Corporate RTS team to align on process updates and best practices across sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in transformer manufacturing, testing, or technical quality roles.
  • In-depth understanding of transformer construction, testing, and customer documentation requirements.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • ERP and document control system experience preferred.

Travel:

Minimal; may include occasional visits to customer sites or other VTC facilities for training or best practice sharing.
