About the Role

We are seeking a Materials & Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, materials planning, and distribution for our SMT (Surface Mount Technology) operations. This role is key to ensuring timely, cost-effective material supply and efficient inventory management to support uninterrupted production and business operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of raw materials, subsidiary materials, and consumables for SMT production lines
• Develop and manage vendor relationships, including qualification, selection, and performance monitoring
• Review and negotiate supplier quotations, contracts, and pricing; manage purchase orders and delivery terms
• Oversee all aspects of material receiving, shipping, inventory control, and conduct regular inventory audits
• Supervise material issuance and optimize the material flow across receiving, storage, production, and shipping
• Ensure accuracy of material and procurement data in ERP systems
• Align procurement activities with production schedules and business forecasts to prevent shortages or delays
• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve material-related issues such as shortages or defects
• Provide regular reports on purchasing activity, inventory levels, and performance metrics (weekly/monthly/annually)
• Lead initiatives for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and supply chain process improvement

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, etc.)
• 1+ years of experience in procurement, materials management, or supply chain in an SMT or manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of raw materials, material types, BOM structures, and SMT production requirements
• Proven negotiation and vendor management skills
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail, responsibility, and leadership qualities; a strong team player

Preferred Skills

• Background in electronics, semiconductors, or ESS (Environmental Stress Screening) industries
• Business-level proficiency in English or Chinese
• Professional certifications in procurement or materials management (e.g., CPM, CPIM, CSCP)
• Deep understanding of SMT manufacturing processes and supply chain environments
