Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Planning & Scheduling Coordinator – Chemical Plant to support a large, industry-leading chemical manufacturing client. In this role, you will oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution processes to ensure work is prioritized, resourced, and completed safely and efficiently. You will collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams to optimize plant reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Review maintenance work notifications to confirm scope, completeness, and value to the site.
  • Coach personnel on writing clear, effective maintenance notifications.
  • Align all planned work with plant goals and production requirements.
  • Partner with operations to identify upcoming maintenance needs and prioritize critical tasks.
  • Coordinate equipment outages to meet maintenance and production timelines.
  • Track and manage preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and ensure compliance.
  • Analyze planning, scheduling, and work order execution processes to recommend improvements.
  • Monitor maintenance work backlog and assess resource requirements, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Communicate priorities to planners and define the weekly maintenance schedule.
  • Support the site scheduler with maintenance work formatting and alignment.
  • Track progress for equipment repairs, including offsite work and special parts orders.
  • Collaborate on solutions for repetitive equipment failures.
  • Assist with managing unplanned maintenance that impacts the weekly schedule.
  • Monitor and control maintenance budgets for assigned areas.
  • Work closely with project and maintenance coordinators to balance resource needs and cost efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of multiple maintenance crafts and support services.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and plant safety requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
