Position Overview

Help innovate Naval Air Traffic Control training using gaming! You will be a Subject Matter Expert on current Naval Air Traffic Control training methods for a team developing innovative training tools using gaming to enhance knowledge and reinforce skills for sailor trainees in an intense, fast-paced environment to become certified Naval Air Traffic Controllers. The training will be designed to enable them to carry out Air Traffic duties in accordance with standards outlined in NAVAIR 80T-114 and FAA Order JO 7110.65Z, Air Traffic Control.

Concepts Beyond provides innovative solutions to air traffic management with advanced, leading-edge technologies such as gaming, modeling & simulation, cloud computing, big data, Machine Learning, etc.

Essential Functions

  • Provide expertise on Navy ATC training at the ATC schoolhouse and facilities, including curriculum, processes, and tools and identify innovative ways for trainees to master the concepts, requirements, and techniques (separation standards, procedures, phraseology, etc.).
  • Analyze ATC training curriculum to identify areas where there are training / learning challenges and identify opportunities where gaming training platform solutions can alleviate those challenges.
  • Participate in designing teaching tools and games within the software platform (quizzing, phraseology trainers, skills trainers, etc.).
  • Identify methodologies and technologies for establishing a modern classroom environment integrated with mobile learning apps.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ experience in providing Naval Air Traffic Control Services.
  • Experience with ATC instruction, particularly at the Navy schoolhouse.
  • Knowledge of Navy/FAA ATC rules, regulations, and training techniques of Control Tower and Approach Control operations.
  • Ability to be creative and generate new ideas for training methods and games, and communicate them to software developers and instructors.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with FAA ATC and FAA Order JO 7110.65Z.
  • Experience as an instructor at the Navy AC schoolhouse or FAA ATC Academy.
  • Previous experience in providing consultancy or training services related to the development of military/civil aviation sector.
