The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women, to the praise and glory of God. This position is an in-person, on-campus role.

Essential

Instructional
- Comprehensive knowledge of the specific discipline(s) being taught, which is physical science and pre-algebra.
- Familiarity with scientific practices, laboratory techniques, and safety protocols.
- Understanding of state and national science standards, including the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
- Ability to integrate cross-disciplinary knowledge when appropriate (e.g., combining physics and math).
- Experience in designing and safely implementing engaging demonstrations, laboratory experiments, and hands-on activities.
- Proficiency in using technology and scientific tools (e.g., lab equipment, simulations, data analysis software) to enhance instruction.
- Promoting problem-solving and critical thinking in science (reading graphs and analyzing data, predicting errors in labs, etc.)
- Ability to incorporate real-world applications of science to inspire student interest and engagement.
- Ability to guide students as to which future courses would meet their interest and ability levels.
- Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child’s education and assist them in the task.
- Plan broadly using semester and quarterly plans and objectives as detailed in the course/content area curriculum guide.
- Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and instruction.
- Affect student learning through mastery of the subject material by utilizing valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school’s philosophy.
- Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work.
- Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the child’s spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional needs.
- Support the LEAP program and follow through on student accommodations, modifications, etc.
- Plan through approved channels the balanced use of field trips, guest speakers, and other media.
- Use homework effectively for drill, review, enrichment, or project work and follow grade level time guidelines.
- Ability to guide students as to which future courses would meet their interest and ability levels.
Non-Instructional
- Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good teaching environment.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
- Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress.
- Inform the Principal if unable to fulfill any duty assigned and request a substitute teacher and prepare adequate information and materials for him/her.
- Cooperate with the Board and Administration in implementing all policies, procedures and directives governing the operation of the school.
- Notify the Principal of any policy he/she is unable to fully support.
- Keep students, parents and the Principal adequately informed of progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of pending failure.
- Supervise extra-curricular activities, organizations and outings as assigned.
Professional
- Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
- Obtain and maintain a current standard ACSI teaching certificate.
- Seek the counsel of the Principal, colleagues and parents while maintaining a teachable attitude.
- Provide input and recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.
- Attend and participate in scheduled campus and/or school meetings: devotions, prayer, faculty, State of GRACE, homecoming, graduation, etc.
General
- Seek to role model in attitude, speech, and actions as consistent with a daily walk with Jesus Christ.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Support the broader program of the school by attending extra-curricular activities as requested.
- Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
- Contribute to the general improvement of the school program.
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the Head of School.
- Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
- Meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism.
- Respectfully submit and be loyal to constituted authority.

- Make an effort to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of the community.
- Attends and participates in scheduled campus and/or school meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- ACSI Certification preferred; ACSI Certifiable required.
- Prior teaching experience highly preferred.
- Prior coaching experience is highly preferred.
- Understanding of child development for ages of students in class or grade.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust one’s tone and height, by bending or leaning, to teach each child.
