Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Mortgage Loan Officer to originate high-quality residential mortgage loans and help drive the bank’s growth and loan portfolio performance. In this role, you will provide exceptional service to both new and existing customers, guide them through the mortgage process, and deliver approvable loan packages aligned with regulatory standards. You will also play a key role in mentoring entry-level Residential Lenders, contributing to a strong team environment and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct interviews with loan applicants to complete mortgage loan applications and explain the overall loan process, including disclosures.
• Assist applicants in navigating Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) loans, including Affordable Housing Programs, clearly outlining the process and documentation requirements.
• Collect, verify, and review all necessary documentation to ensure loan applications meet regulatory and internal compliance guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with loan processors and underwriters to expedite mortgage requests and ensure timely decisions.
• Partner with processors to ensure applications are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
• Obtain and resolve any additional documentation requests or issues raised during processing, underwriting, or closing.
• Track loan progress, keep borrowers informed, and ensure full compliance throughout the lending process.
• Coordinate closing schedules with clients, processors, title companies, and other relevant parties.
• Input applications into the loan origination system and provide early disclosures to borrowers promptly.
• Build and maintain relationships with realtors, accountants, and closing agents to generate business and streamline the loan process.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams—processing, underwriting, documentation, closing, and operations—to ensure a seamless customer experience and high-quality originations.
• Actively participate in community events to support CRA initiatives and affordable housing programs.
• Identify and report any potential risks or violations related to laws, regulations, policies, or ethics to your supervisor.

Education & Certification Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) or willing to register prior to employment.
• Must successfully pass an FBI criminal background check and credit check before receiving a job offer.

Work Experience Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience as a Residential Loan Officer in the local market.
• Experience with non-government loan products is highly preferred.
