Job Description

Molecular Laboratory Technologist II

📍 Location: Nashville, TN

🕒 Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

🧪 Training: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

🔄 Flexibility required for holidays and occasional alternate shifts

Pay rate: $34/hr-$38/hr

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Molecular Laboratory Technologist II to join our growing molecular diagnostics lab in Nashville, TN . In this role, you will perform high-complexity testing using PCR and other molecular techniques to support oncology-focused testing services. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular testing following SOPs and regulatory guidelines (CLIA, CAP, TN Medical Laboratory Board).
  • Accurately analyze and report patient test results, maintaining detailed records.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, including routine maintenance and annual calibrations.
  • Participate in quality assurance and control procedures, including proficiency testing and reagent qualifications.
  • Contribute to SOP development and improvements; assist in onboarding and training of new staff.
  • Maintain proper inventory of laboratory reagents and consumables.
  • Support laboratory projects and CLIA validation studies, with the ability to lead smaller-scale initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • Current Tennessee Medical Laboratory Technologist License (Generalist or Special Analyst – Molecular Diagnostics).
  • ASCP certification (or ASCP-eligible).
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science.
  • 2+ years of clinical lab experience performing high-complexity molecular testing.
  • Familiarity with GLP and GDP standards.
  • Strong micro-pipetting technique and lab documentation skills.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with Real-Time PCR, Droplet Digital PCR, or NGS .
  • Proficiency using LIMS and EDMS platforms.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and adaptability.

Additional Details

  • Must be available to work holidays per Clinical Operations policy.
  • Flexibility to support alternate shifts when needed is required.
