Job Description

ABOUT US:

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to Maintenance team, and assures that all staff receives proper training
  • Schedules and delegates work areas/functions to appropriate staff, ensuring that all shifts have appropriate coverage, especially in case of emergency
  • Directs the maintenance and repair of the company’s production machines to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime to production machines
  • Directs the repair and maintenance of the company’s electrical units and systems
  • Develops and implements schedules and procedures for regular preventative maintenance of machinery
  • Maintains records of maintenance and service activities
  • Evaluates the performance of maintenance employees
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
  • Places orders for spare parts and equipment
  • Synchronizes work processes with other divisions of the company
  • Ensures a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Health & Safety

  • Ensure that employees work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and company’s health and safety program (management commitment)
  • Conduct regular inspections (planned and unplanned) to identify unsafe, hazardous practices and conditions and ensure prompt corrective action (management commitment)
  • Report all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and near misses and complete thorough investigations to identify corrective actions. Advise management on how to prevent similar incidents in the future. (management commitment)
  • Support the site health and safety committee through ensuring health and safety committee members are provided time and resources to complete their required duties (monthly meetings and inspections) (management commitment)
  • Hold regular safety meetings with employees to review safety conditions and health and safety policies (management commitment)
  • Provide an example for others by always directing and performing work in a safe manner; Follow company’s health and safety policy and procedures (leadership)
  • Provide to employee’s instructions on safe work procedures (verbal and written) (training)
  • Advise employees of the existence of any potential or actual danger to their health and safety (training)
  • Ensure that new and temporary employees receive detailed safety instructions before they start work (training)
  • Ensure employees are provided with and use required safety equipment and personal protective equipment (tools)

Recipe for Success

  • Valid electrical license is desired
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of previous experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
