A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Machinist
Position Type: Full time – Contract
Location: Charleston, SC, 29401
Duration: 12+ Months
As a Machinist, you will:
Responsible for:
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. May modify numerically controlled programs on numerically controlled (nc) machines. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Education/Experience:
· High School diploma.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Qualified candidates must have five (5) or more years’ experience as a machinist, machinist mate, mechanic/automotive repairman, engine man, heavy equipment repairman or similar experience.
· Machinists take the locating information and applied mathematics tests
· Candidates must possess the ability to read and interpret measurements using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Note: Employee will be working in a production environment and will need basic orientation, confined space training, fall protection training, and respiratory fit testing/training.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $40 - $45 Per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
