Job Title: Workday HCM Talent Management Lead

Location: Raleigh, NC (FULLY REMOTE)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract

Position Overview:

NewSouth Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Workday HCM Talent Management Lead to manage and enhance the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) Talent Management Suite. This role is responsible for evaluating, prioritizing, and implementing system requests across functional areas such as Recruitment, Applicant Tracking, Onboarding/Offboarding, Position Description Management, and Organizational Charts. A primary focus of this role will be the development and configuration of onboarding and offboarding forms and ensuring seamless integration with broader HR systems.

The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between business owners, functional analysts, developers, and security analysts to ensure Workday configurations align with organizational goals, compliance standards, and user needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead administrator for Workday Talent Management, driving enhancements and system configurations

  • Coordinate and evaluate requests from stakeholders across HR, IT, and business functions

  • Design, configure, test, and deploy Workday solutions, particularly in onboarding/offboarding and position management

  • Develop and maintain forms and workflows related to onboarding/offboarding

  • Oversee applicant tracking processes and integration of organizational charts

  • Ensure Workday HCM processes follow the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and best practices

  • Collaborate with HR business partners, IT developers, and project managers to align system functionality with workforce strategy

  • Provide ongoing support, documentation, and training related to Workday Talent Management

  • Analyze and resolve issues related to Workday functionality, data integrity, and user access

  • Communicate complex technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Computer Science, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution

  • 7+ years in a lead role supporting HCM system implementation and support, including design, configuration, testing, and deployment of cloud-based solutions

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience specifically with Workday HCM Talent Management Suite

  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices, compliance regulations, and industry standards

  • Deep understanding of state government organizational structures and how they relate to user/organization roles

  • Proven experience in solution design, data mapping, reporting, and integration

  • Strong collaboration experience across HR business units, technical developers, and project teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in public sector environments

  • Prior involvement in talent management initiatives such as performance, recruiting, and learning modules

  • Experience working within a matrixed organization

  • Familiarity with Workday security roles and data access governance

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with Workday HCM SaaS platforms and associated modules

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical and functional issues

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to engage cross-functional teams and guide decision-making

  • Proven ability to manage complex workflows and lead stakeholder discussions

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
