Compensation: Competitive Pay + Bonus + full relocation and benefits

Lead. Innovate. Protect the Environment.

Are you ready to make a lasting impact in environmental compliance and industrial sustainability?

We’re seeking a Director of EHS Regulatory – Water & Wastewater Systems to lead enterprise-wide wastewater and water compliance programs for a major U.S. manufacturer. This highly visible role oversees regulatory excellence, system optimization, and operator development across multiple facilities nationwide.

You’ll be the subject matter expert guiding wastewater treatment operations, compliance programs, and data-driven improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure 100% regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and standardize water and wastewater treatment operations across multiple facilities.
  • Develop and implement corporate policies, SOPs, and compliance documentation exceeding federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Partner with facility teams to optimize wastewater treatment systems, including pretreatment, anaerobic/aerobic, BNR, and disinfection processes.
  • Train and mentor operators to enhance system reliability, safety, and technical capability.
  • Ensure inspection readiness and lead internal/external audits, coordinating responses to regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with EHS leadership and operations to build a culture of safety and environmental excellence.
  • Drive innovation in data collection, reporting, and decision-making to improve performance and sustainability outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (engineering, environmental science, or related field); equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of wastewater treatment experience (14+ years if no degree).
  • 5+ years of leadership or team management experience.
  • Strong background in industrial wastewater treatment — experience in protein, food, pulp & paper, or chemical manufacturing a plus.
  • Proven knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and local environmental regulations.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities; bilingual skills a plus.
  • Must live (or be willing to relocate) within driving distance of Tar Heel, NC.

Why This Role Matters

This is a rare opportunity to influence wastewater operations across a national manufacturing footprint — from plant-level optimization to corporate sustainability strategy. You’ll work with site teams, environmental professionals, and executive leaders to advance innovation, compliance, and environmental performance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Relocation Assistance: Full package available
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays, and more
  • Company Vehicle: Provided for regional travel

Schedule & Environment

  • Primarily Monday–Friday , with flexibility during system upset conditions (occasional nights/weekends).
  • Involves travel to facilities (up to 50%) to oversee compliance and support site operations.
  • Requires comfort working in both office and plant environments , including outdoor and field conditions.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re an experienced environmental or wastewater professional with a passion for sustainability, innovation, and leadership — this is your opportunity to drive meaningful change at scale.
