Description:
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Coordinates the production of extensive and complex document products such as proposals or client project deliverables (e.g., study protocols, reports, etc.). Operates desktop publishing equipment and software packages to perform complex assignments. Creates documents that are 508 compliant.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Create and edit documents using desktop publishing software (candidate must be an expert user of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro); fully utilize the technical capabilities of computer equipment to produce complex documents; recommend overall product layout and design. Knowledgeable in creating bookmarks, hyperlinks, headers and footers with Adobe.
2. Consult with authors to ensure effectiveness of deliverables. Recommend revisions to better represent document intent.
3. Perform or assist other operators in the most complicated publishing operations including scientific notations and symbolisms, statistical computations, spreadsheets, form layout, graphics, typesetting, ensuring 508 compliant for more involved reports and proposals.
4. Perform desktop publishing for reports and proposals.
5. Perform final quality check on product.
6. Perform multiple revisions of copy using electronic editing capabilities.
7. Maintain and update files of standard formats, reports, paragraphs, and statements.
8. Prepare charts, graphs, or tables to present data.
9. Experience working with documents in Sharepoint.
10. Interact with internal customers to obtain detailed information; research materials for requested information.
11. Correct punctuation or grammar in material and correspondence; read and interpret proofing marks and editing codes. Ensure documents are 508 compliant.
12. Direct the assembly or collation of documents.
13. Maintain knowledge of professional industry practices.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Oral and written communication skills normally acquired through completion of high school curriculum. Must be able to sit and operate computing up to 80% of work shift. Must possess effective English language and grammar skills. Ability to prioritize, schedule and organize work in a high-pressure environment. Excellent word processing skills. Ability to perform standard arithmetic calculations. Courses in writing and grammar desired. Must be proficient in making documents 508 compliant.
