CEO – PE Backed High-Value Hardware Manufacturing Company

Salt Creek Capital – a private equity firm founded in 2009 with over 40 active portfolio companies – is seeking a CEO and business partner to lead one of its portfolio companies.

The portfolio company is a highly respected manufacturer of brass, leather, and copper alloy push-pull products. The successful candidate will work with the current management team and Salt Creek Capital to pursue a long-term growth strategy. The position requirements include expanding the customer base, optimizing operational processes, developing and implementing growth strategies, and managing full P&L responsibilities.

Headquartered in Torrington, CT, the Company is a historic leader in the fine component hardware manufacturing space. With a operating history spanning over 100 years, the Company is renowned for its vertically integrated operations, mass customization capabilities, and enduring customer relationships built over decades. The Company excels in producing high-end, custom hardware solutions for cabinets, doors, and appliances and is poised to continue growing under new executive leadership.

The successful candidate shall serve as the most senior business executive at the Company and shall report to and participate on the Company’s board of directors. As CEO, the candidate shall also be required to invest a personally meaningful amount in the Company (e.g., $100,000+) and shall earn additional incentive equity-based ownership compensation.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Work with Salt Creek Capital and the Board of Directors to develop and execute a 3–5-year strategic plan that follows best practices of value creation
  • Actively engage in sales, operations, finance, supplier relations, team recruiting & development, and other functional aspects of the Company's management team
  • Drive expansion of the Company’s existing network of customers through effective business development and marketing strategies
  • Lead process improvements and manage continuous operational enhancements that leverage the Company’s mass customization capabilities and vertically integrated practices
  • Deliver strong financial performance and timely reports to the Board of Directors; oversee all company financial management and operating metrics

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of driving change, optimizing performance, and aligning cross-functional teams around a clear vision for growth and operational excellence
  • Demonstrated success in repositioning or revitalizing organizations through strategic pivot, operational transformation, or cultural reset during periods of uncertainty
  • Prior successful P&L management and/or CEO experience in component manufacturing and/or home building products is highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to increase profitability through proactive business development efforts
  • Desire to participate as a business partner and ability to balance fiduciary responsibilities to numerous disparate stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial thinker with an appetite to take on a high level of responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-focused business model
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of a company
  • At least 10 years of senior management experience
  • Excellent professional references and high integrity

Compensation:

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary, performance-based cash incentives, and comprehensive health benefits. The role offers financial upside tied to value creation and company performance. Future long-term incentive opportunities may be considered based on company milestones and individual contributions.
