Position Summary

The Air and Ocean Import Specialist is responsible for managing the complete import cycle for both air and ocean shipments. This includes documentation handling, coordination with international partners and domestic service providers, and ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and other regulatory agencies. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage high-volume accounts with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate full-cycle import operations for both air and ocean freight shipments.
• Process and review shipping documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and entry summaries.
• Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, brokers, and truckers to track and trace inbound freight.
• Ensure timely clearance and delivery of cargo while maintaining regulatory compliance with U.S. Customs and relevant agencies.
• Resolve discrepancies or delays in the supply chain and escalate issues as needed.
• Generate quotations, manage margins, and ensure accurate billing and invoicing.
• Maintain files in accordance with company procedures and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments (Customs, Sales, and Warehousing) to support customer requirements.
• Monitor KPIs and provide input on improving operational efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in international freight forwarding, with emphasis on both air and ocean import operations .
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. import procedures, including Customs regulations and documentation.
• Experience with CargoWise preferred.
