Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant with significant experience in Accounts Payable to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced corporate environment, maintains strong stakeholder/client relationships, and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will also support general accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, purchase order matching, payment runs, and client account maintenance
• Review and verify coding of invoices and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
• Reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes by preparing AP accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Maintain files and support preparation of 1099s and other compliance documents
• Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to ensure efficient workflow and issue resolution
• Assist in corporate credit card reconciliation and employee expense reports
• Support audit requests and help ensure documentation and controls are audit-ready
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and automation of AP procedures
• Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or corporate accounting, preferably in a mid to large-size company
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
• Proficiency in accounting systems QuickBooks and Excel
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with AP automation tools is a plus
